The flexibility of asynchronous online learning, combined with the unique research focus found only at FSIHS attracts students from around the world. While we welcome applicants from all regions and cultures, we have an obligation to ensure that each applicant is able to fully benefit from the academic services provided at FSIHS and that the applicant is prepared to succeed professionally upon graduation.

International applicants must, in addition to submitting the regular package of application documents, meet the following requirements:

English Proficiency

Applicants for whom English is their second language are also required to confirm proficiency in the English language by submitting one or both of the following items:

  • Results from an official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam with an internet based test (iBT) score of 85 or above.
  • Transcripts from a college or university which is nationally or regionally accredited by the US Department of Education reflecting a minimum of 15 quarter credits / 10 semester credits of coursework at the 100 level or above with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Evaluation of Official Transcripts

Transcripts from colleges or universities which are located outside of the United States are required to be formally translated and evaluated by an independent evaluation service. This service will provide a course-by-course evaluation which enables FSIHS to evaluate the academic credentials as compared to US standards. The applicant must request that the service submits the report to the FSIHS admissions department. These is a fee for this service, which is determined by the service required.

The report must be completed by a service which is accredited by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Accredited services can be found at the NACES website:
